Cookie Policy

1. What Cookies Are
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device so it can remember things (like your session) and understand, in aggregate, how the site is used. “First-party” cookies are set by higherselflife.com; “third-party” cookies are set by a service we use (for example, Stripe when you make a secure donation).
2. Cookies We Use
| Cookie / type | Purpose | Category | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| WordPress / session | Core site function, security, and (if you have an account) keeping you signed in | Strictly necessary | Session – 14 days |
| WPForms | Spam prevention and remembering form/session state | Strictly necessary | Session |
| GiveWP / Stripe | Fraud prevention and secure donation processing at checkout | Necessary (third-party) | Session – 1 year |
| SiteGround (hosting) | Security, bot protection, and performance/caching | Strictly necessary | Session – 1 year |
| Google Analytics (via MonsterInsights) | Aggregate, non-identifying usage stats to improve the site | Analytics | Up to 13 months |
We do not use advertising, retargeting, or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not sell any data cookies collect.
3. Managing Cookies
You can accept, block, or delete cookies through your browser settings — see your browser’s help pages (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge). Blocking strictly-necessary cookies may break forms and secure donations, but you can still browse the site.
4. Do Not Track & GPC
Because there is no industry-standard response to browser “Do Not Track” signals, the site does not respond to them; however, we already avoid the cross-site tracking those signals are meant to prevent. We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as an opt-out of any “sale” or “sharing” (we do neither).
5. Changes & Contact
If we change the cookies we use, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date. Questions: info@higherselflife.com. See also our Privacy Policy.
This Cookie Policy is provided for transparency and is not legal advice.
