Donation Policy

The short version. HigherSelf is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 46-0670042), so your gift is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. We provide no goods or services in exchange for a donation, so the full amount is generally deductible. Gifts are non-refundable — except for a genuine error or duplicate charge, which we’ll gladly correct. You can cancel a recurring gift any time. The full detail is below.

1. Our Nonprofit Status

Donations are made to HigherSelf (doing business as HigherSelf), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN 46-0670042) based at 7 Warren Street, Newark, NJ 07102. Your gift supports our charitable mission and programs.

2. Tax-Deductibility

Because HigherSelf is a 501(c)(3) organization, contributions are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. We do not provide tax or legal advice — please consult your own tax advisor about your specific situation and keep your receipt for your records.

3. No Goods or Services in Exchange

No goods or services are provided in exchange for a donation, so the full amount of an ordinary gift is generally deductible. If a specific benefit is ever offered in return for a gift (for example, an event ticket or a thank-you item), we will state its fair market value at the time, and only the amount of your gift that exceeds that fair market value is tax-deductible.

5. Refunds & Errors

Donations are generally non-refundable. We understand mistakes happen, though — if you made a genuine error, were charged more than once, or believe a gift was unauthorized, email us at info@higherselflife.com promptly (ideally within 15 days) and we will review and, where appropriate, refund the charge in good faith.

6. Recurring Gifts & Cancellation

If you set up a recurring (monthly or scheduled) donation, it will continue until you cancel. You can cancel or change a recurring gift at any time — email info@higherselflife.com with the name and email used for the gift, and we will stop future charges. Cancelling stops upcoming gifts; it does not refund gifts already made (subject to the error exception above).

7. Receipts & Records

You will receive an emailed acknowledgment for each gift, which serves as your receipt. Retain it for your tax records. If you need a year-end summary or a replacement receipt, contact us and we will provide one.

8. How Donations Are Processed

Donations are collected through GiveWP and processed securely by Stripe. Your full card number is handled by Stripe and is never seen or stored by HigherSelf. We do not sell, rent, or trade donor information; see our Privacy Policy for how donor data is handled, including how to give anonymously.
